I went birdwatching …..

Decided to go to WWT Welney for a couple of hours this morning and watch birds.Well, that didn’t happen. It was a lovely bright sunny day but unfortunately the wind was strong and cold. As a result, no birds visible, the hide was cold and windy with the windows open and when they were shut you couldn’t take decent photos through the glass even if the birds had been there!  It was warmer out in the sunshine sheltered from the wind by the river bank so I concentrated on the plants and insects. These are only flies and beetley things but the colours and detail are beautiful. there was a tinier bright green one as well but a bee or wasp darted down and grabbed it in its mouth before I could get it in shot.
I also liked the teasels against the bright blue sky - but the wind was moving them a bit so they are not all sharp - see extra.
A nice couple of hours blowing the cobwebs away!
