Bale Stacks

I decided to walk around the fields this morning, so set off north of the village. Most of the fields around here have extra wide field margins which makes for good walking. I think the government subsidised farmers to do this. It’s great for wildlife.
We saw one hare, two kestrels and four deer. Such a treat.
We came across a broccoli field where a lot of the broccoli had gone to seed. I’m guessing it’s due to lack of pickers, who are usually European workers. I found some that was fine so Geordie and I both had broccoli with our meals this evening.
The sun shone the whole time we were out, so it was dry and bright with a lovely fresh breeze.
We walked almost four miles so the afternoon was spent on the sofa with music and my book.
This is the life. Fresh air and exercise followed by relaxation and veg straight from the field.

Thank you for all your kind comments for my painted bench. I really appreciate them.
