Watching the Neighbours

The day started sunny. I had plans for a lunch break on the terrace, but at lunchtime it started to rain.

As the sun came out again, I hoped to end work early today, go out and enjoy the lovely afternoon. Then I got an email: "Our editor suddenly realized that he's going on holiday next week. We need you to deliver these 13 documents by Friday morning, even though we had originally given you a deadline in two weeks".

I did my best, and will do my best tomorrow as well. If I can make it in time, I'm not sure. Enjoying the sunshine is for editors, not for writers.
