Veranda And Visitor

With perfect timing, weather wise, our new veranda was installed today. We were a bit concerned as we had a message when we got home last night to say it was touch-and-go as they were struggling to get fuel. They obviously succeeded though as they turned up just before 8 o'clock. It was sunny all morning as they were working, and then we had a short shower this afternoon. So we have already been able to try it out in wet and dry situations.

We are pleased with it although there was one large decorative part missing (isn't there always) so that has had to be ordered and will be fitted at a later date.

Just after the fitters left there was a loud thud from the patio area and we thought something might have dropped down. It was a visitor though, who flew in through the kitchen door and crashed into the patio door glass trying to get out again. I think it was a chiffchaff? I tried to catch him with a towel but he flew up onto a mirror and then circled the kitchen before leaving via the kitchen door. He had a very melodic song.
