The accidental finding

Tattered edges in super-macro

.. a bit like us! It's the school holidays today, and I woke up without a headache, thank goodness! The day was so very cold I had to force myself to get dressed after I'd made us a cooked breakfast (CleanSteve's idea). All this took till about lunchtime...

Eventually the sun did break out a little and I tried to finish a jigsaw in the cabin, but it was just too cold to be enjoyable. I had great birdwatching opportunities, but I knew that with my compact I'd have to be right up against the window to get any good shots. Robins, blackbirds and female blackcaps were the main visitors. In the end, CleanSteve helped me finish the puzzle (the sky was the problem, wouldn't you know, those fifty shades of blue) and for the tenth time we discussed ordering more coal. The newspapers have hinted at the possibility of gas being rationed in the UK. and the cold weather isn't going away any time soon.

My desk never did get tidied today, but I did cook something rather fancy with haddock, waxy potatoes and anchovies. Afterwards I went upstairs to get some spare mountboard, to make a larger board for a 1, 500 piece jigsaw. A couple of hours later, Steve heard a rumpus, and a scratching, and discovered poor Bomble shut into the spare room! At least it has a comfy bed in there, and we're not going to be taxed on it. Not yet.
