Ceiling of the Grand Theatre, Blackpool

Went on an Architectural Photography workshop today. The workshop was run by Sean Comboy but the star of the show was undoubtedly the location it was held in - the Grand Theatre.
Opened in 1894 the theatre was designed by Frank Matcham who also designed the Tower Ballroom, the London Palladium, Victoria Palace and the London Coliseum among more than 150 theatre and entertainment buildings.
The Grand was almost demolished in 1972 but as a Grade ll listed building it was saved at the last minute.
Of the photographs I took today I was not sure which to choose as my blip so please take a look HERE for the other candidates.
I hope you agree it would have been a crime for this beautiful building to have been demolished.
