And the Birthday Celebration Continues

Sunny and mild with periods of cloudiness. Up early to get ready to go to my mother’s home. Hubby put fall fertilizer on the lawn. A Marine from South Dakota who used to work on the same Navy base as me 50 years ago is visiting our area. As long as I can remember, my parents have had lonely/needy friends living with them or sharing a daily meal at their kitchen table. Dean was a young guy all alone so he became a regular visitor while he was stationed here. When he decided to show his wife the East Coast, he made sure one stop would be my mother’s home. My sister used to hang out with him so he contacted her to coordinate the visit. We all went out to lunch to celebrate our mother’s actual birthday. I almost forgot to take a picture. Would have preferred one with our tasty meals on the table. It was fun reminiscing about life in our county 50 years ago. Skylar needed a ride to dance class so we headed north afterwards. Tomorrow, I am hoping I can finally unpack from the WV trip and repack for our camping jaunt. Life sure can make you feel like you are on a roller coaster. Thanks for stopping by. Sure hope things are on an even keel at your end. “When old friends reconnect, there is a refreshing newness, after great memories wash over you, the stage is set for so many more.” — Tom Althouse
