gannet

There were surprisingly still a lot of gannets around at Bempton Cliffs. Amongst them on the cliffs was a  black-browed albatross. These birds are normally found in the South Atlantic, so it is very rare to see them in this country. 
Although I managed to get a good view of the albatross, through the binoclulars and through a scope, it was too far away to photograph. It's a shame it didn't decide to go for a fly around. Apparently, the bird appears at Bempton Cliffs every now and then, so maybe one day I'll get an inflight shot of it.
