Sun chokes

I finally got out to the sun choke patch across the road. It's really doing well this year. I suppose we could dig up the root and eat some but I don't really bother. If we were in desperate times it would be a decent food source. They taste quite good but can give one a pretty good dose of gas...lol.
Even while many are blooming nicely there are a lot of ratty looking ones. With the wind blowing today it really had an autumnal feel.
