Toothless Smiler

The people at Open Plaques put out a message today about a new series of blue plaques that had been put up in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield.  These are plaques with a difference though, having been placed by the charity Simon on the Streets to develop awareness of people who sleep rough.  

Their blog had an image each from each place, and recognising the location of the Bradford one I went down to take a look, and I thought Blipfoto would be an ideal medium to keep spreading the message.  You may notice that the plaques are placed much nearer street level than is typical, which is to draw attention to the spots where people have slept.

The weather at the moment particularly brings home the tough conditions of the street.  Hopefully these plaques will make a few more people pause and think about that.
