First day…….

After settling Shiv with her friend Tabs for the week, we headed north to visit the gang at Bouvier Rescue. Sonja does a great job looking after this brood of misfits who are either too old, have medical or behavioral issues to re-home. We had a great time getting to know them all.

Next we headed to Mbombela (Nelspruit in old money) and we were so thankful to not be going in the opposite direction as these poor people were. A combination of road works, the end of a long weekend, and a toll gate caused this massive tailback.

We got to our home for the night at Loerieroep, in their stunning treehouse. Sitting on the wee veranda with a glass of vino in hand as the sun set. It doesn’t get much better than this, and it’s only day one.
