Paris was grey and cold. Pretty cold here, too. But it's good to be home.
These are the Tours St. Laurent, once the home of the artist Jean Lurçat who had his atelier here. He was famous for his tapestries and his distinctively stylised representations of cocks and butterflies.
The Tours sit atop a volcanic hill that overlooks the surrounding countryside and our local town. They are still owned by the family, and his workshop is now open to the public. The municipal art gallery is full of his work.
