Cruise ship

More singing today! We had an ordination service at 15.00 for which we had some well known hymns and some modern songs and one mediaeval plainsong, Come Holy Ghost Our Souls Inspire. The bishop of exeter led the service with suitable gravitas. He is a really pastoral bishop and he takes his time with each candidate. It really made you understand the huge responsibility they are undertaking, thankfully with God’s help! There were lots of clergy in frockss!

I walked home with the welcomers who live just along the road from me and we saw the cruise ship! Apparently just as a the service was about to start a group of tourists from the ship arrived to visit. They were intercepted and they saidthey would be very quiet! Not the sort of service where wandering around would be encouraged so they missed out on St. Andrews!
