Isles of Scilly Day 1
It’s a bus shelter - isn’t it lovely? Behind it is the Town Beach of Hugh Town If you look at the map panel to the right of the hedgehog you can see the lines of the sea/sky and the sand/sea. I think this beach is going to be important as it’s the one that dogs are allowed on. Little Stellar had a wonderful run around in the sand, while 3 rather tired human beings trudged behind her.
I got here. At 5.30 I caught the coach arranged by the airline to take us from Exeter airport to Penzance harbour to get the boat specially put on to take us all - it doesn’t normally run on Sunday. We’d been going down the A30 for less than half and hour when we were stopped by a police car - full on blue flashing lights - because something was loose on the bottom of the coach, creating sparks underneath as we went along the road. A passenger who seemed to be a mechanic slid under the coach and tied up the loose thing, and we proceeded. Honestly, you couldn’t make it up!
My extra is of the view from my seat in the coach, while it’s in the services, getting mended. Then we got successfully to Penzance, and travelled across the sea for almost 3 hours to Scilly. And I sat outside on the top deck in the sunshine, and with the help of the tablets, didn’t get at all seasick. And I saw terns and gannets fishing.
Lovely to finally see my friends on the quayside. Only 24 hours a late:)
