Dinner for a cold day

Korean cabbage and soya bean paste (doenjang) soup, with a side dish of kkaktugi (white radish kimchi). Guaranteed to warm you up, and a slightly mutant version of a recipe from Maangchi.com. Though I don't think the glass of Dandelion and Burdock adds to the authenticity :-)

Got interested in Korean food (initially kimchi) a couple of years back, mainly thanks to Maangchi's videos on YouTube. Though the original impetus came from re-reading Robert Van Gulik's Judge Dee novels: Judge Dee seems to live on rice and pickled vegetables! Which led to finding out about kimchi (Korean pickled cabbage and other vegetables) and it snowballed from there.
