Luca...
My brother and Soos came for a visit with Luca this afternoon after they got back from Hong Kong. Luca makes me giggle when she sees herself in the mirror, spends a whole lot of time barking at herself. Doofus! The flash gave her comedy eyes, not the best photo I've ever taken but it made me smile. Soos has lent me her Lumix to play with. I'd like a little compact (my birthday present to myself - or one of them cause I fear there may be a whole lot of shopping that will be justified in this way!) so I'm going to figure out how to work it and see what it can do... I'm not convinced that I don't want a Nikon compact... I figure I sort of know how to work mine, a little one can't be that different right?
In the background, the mountain of films I'm making my way through thanks to Sleepyhead and his ridiculously large movie collection which is even bigger than my shoe collection!, a stray piece of paper with face cream to look out for in NY that should have been put back in the New York box with my stash of cash that I've been counting today. There's something about the smell of new notes that I quite like. Although I'm trying to figure out where they're going to be safe... my initial thought is that I'll stash my cash in my bra but it doesn't fit in the little purse I bought. I need a new plan... any suggestions?!
The swelling has gone down more and while my eye is still a bit fuzzy, it's going to be a relief to get the stitches out tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to bear the weight of my specs on it and then get back to some sort of normality. I think the lack of spec wearing isn't assisting in the sore heads but last night I had my first full seven hour shift in my bed which has made me feel better today. Hoping for another of those tonight. I'm not sure how people cope with being off work long term, whilst I could happily retire if I had pots of dosh, hanging around the house for more than a week is beginning to take it's toll. I love my flat but blimey it's getting boring now.
23 sleeps!
