Is there anyone out there????

All day we've been surrounded by thick fog. Everything is quiet and chilly. It's as if the rest of the world has vanished. Can't even see the sea. We have friends who whenever they visit bring this fog with them and then take it away with them again. I guess we can expect a phone call to say they're coming.

My neighbour found me lurking along the road with the camera. She asked if I had spotted some interesting bird to photograph. I had to confess I was taking pictures of the mist. Even her dog gave me a strange look.
