Brake Problem

Stripping the front brakes on the bike as I can't move the front wheel, other than slightly and with a lot of grunting and heaving!
Probably need new calipers but I'm not spending any money until I know the engine is ok. Still don't know when that will be.
I want to take it outside but have to sort the front brakes first, or leave the calipers off altogether, so I can move it.
