Greenock Town Hall

In Greenock to see an exhibition of school's work which ranges from fair trade activities to George Wyllie material produced by two primary schools. Teachers and pupils were all enthusiastic and the young people were so confident and articulate that it gives you new optimism about the future.

Went for coffee in one of the side rooms and it was there that I spotted this frieze which is repeated around the room. It is all very symbolic of Greenock's close connection with the sea and an indication of the great confidence of our Victorian ancestors.
