Telopea Speciosissima
The most wonderful waratah is just beginning to flower in Blackheath and I spotted this one when walking Billy.
It's unusual to see many of them, more likely, as with this one, that you see a splash of red in amongst the bush.
The shrub on which they grow is usually straggly, but see what it produces.
There are many cultivars grown for commercial uses and these can be readily grown in gardens.
For my money, they don't come near these, but are more regular in formation. They don't 'dance'.
The red is just not quite right, either.
You'll probably see more of these in the next couple of lockdown weeks.
