cut me through the middle and i'd be red

or so a friend once said of my politics. my dilema is apathy. both my own (who can be bothered voting for useless councillors) and labour .. who never bother in this part of Shropshire. 100 years a tory stronghold, farming landowners, 98.8% white middle class the most radical they get is liberal.
Problem is i'm thinking tactical, no labour candidate in my ward, no green candidate, just BNP (aaargghhh) UKIP (see BNP) tories and liberals. I would never vote for this particular liberal ... (reasons of which can't be voiced online) so do I vote blue just to keep him out? something i vowed never to do?
