The plastic’s gone (or going, anyway)
The temporary roof covering Oxburgh Hall for the past 18 months or so is being removed and the scaffolding is coming down too. The west side is uncovered so it is possible to see the new chimneys completely - the new roof is visible but only through the scaffolding as yet. See extras
It is hoped that all the scaffolding will be removed both from the moat and inside the courtyard by January - the scaffolding supervisor told me it takes ⅓ of the time to dismantle that it took to erect - and there is more than 30 miles of scaffold poles in the moat alone! The first part of the scaffolding (in the courtyard) was erected after the collapse of the dormer window in August 2016 - 5 years ago!
