A freshly hatched Monarch Butterfly caterpillar our first of the season and having watched a butterfly laying her eggs I was keen to help them out again so the Swan plant cuttings I have taken hold around 20 eggs of which this is the first to hatch. The egg cell can be seen a little lower on the leaf.
We used to have a big wasp problem and although it has been eased the Monarch caterpillars still suffer.
It's also not raining!
