2021 Monday — Little RJ
Our youngest great-grandchild, Little RJ (Robert John), is sick with a sinus head cold. He’s feeling quite miserable. Today his mommy stayed home from work (teaching high school) so that she could care for him. She says she’ll stay home again tomorrow.
Today Mr. Fun went for his 15-month check-up for prostate cancer with the Urology Dept. He was given his last hormone injection; at least we hope it is the last one. While the hormone has killed his testosterone, which feeds prostate cancer, so the cancer has died, the hormone, which is a female hormone, has been a serious contributor to weight gain and mood swings (no fun). Mr. Fun already had a propensity to being overweight. Ugh!
The results of his most recent blood test confirm that he currently has no prostate cancer in his body. That is a gigantic answer to prayer. It is also a relief. So he’s free to roam about until December when he returns for the 18-month check-up.
While Mr. Fun was at his doctor appointment, I was at a dental appointment. It was time for a “deep” cleaning. This helps to alleviate gum surgery. My hygienist would say it is a preventive procedure.
So we both can check off the box of necessary medical/dental appointments.
We were planning to leave tomorrow for the Central Coast, but our next door neighbor was in a serious accident today. His company pick-up truck was totaled and he is in the hospital with a brain bleed, a broken vertebrae, and many scrapes, scratches, and bruises. He is a heavy equipment operator and was on his way to an out-of-town job and would have been gone several days. We won’t leave till we know he is okay and his wife doesn’t need our help.
That’s our Monday story.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
