Somerset Gardens

Two great art and garden visits in Somerset today - Hauser & Wirth and The Newt.

Hauser & Wirth has a small gallery where they have contemporary art exhibitions. But I was here primarily to see their landscaped garden designed by Piet Oudolf. The garden sits behind the gallery buildings and is in his well known prairie style. There is a modern, almost space age looking, pavilion at the top of the garden designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radic. This photo was taken from the small window in the pavilion which gives a glimpse of the garden. I absolutely loved the whole place - terrific visit.

The Newt gardens, only a few miles away, were completely different and a joy too.
