Quod oculus meus videt

Clouds and Shadows

You have to respect the radiologists at hospitals.  Today I was due to be treated at 12:30 pm but due to one of the 5 machines being in need of a service, there was a delay and I was moved from the machine I was usually on to another that I hadn't been treated on before.

As ever the team lined up all of my tattoos, and adjusted the treatment table so that the x-rays were targeted where they were needed, so limiting the damage to other organs in the vicinity.  After that there is an initial scan to make sure everything is aligned and that my bladder is full enough and bowel empty.  This has happened 24 times before and on only one occasion have they had to delay treatment at that stage.

Today was the second time and was due to me not having been treated on this machine before.  They had to reset me to make sure everything was OK and I really appreciate the professionalism shown in not making do, even though it was only the matter of a few millimetres out.

Of course what was challenging was the delay and the increasing urge to go to the toilet.  I was constantly telling myself to relax as I went through another initial scan and then two complete revolutions of x-rays irradiating my nether regions.  I was relieved to finish and head for the toilet.  Now just 8 more sessions to go.

Again I have been lazy with my photography, using the phone camera.  I just liked the way the two fingers of cloud were mirrored by the shadows from the trees on the edge of the park.  We have had a glorious few days weather for late September and my only frustration is the lack of good sunrises this week.  Maybe tomorrow.
