Autumn Equinox

My day was thrown awry by a call from Mum and Dad’s carer this morning. The bathroom was flooded, the dining room below was flooded, and the ceiling seemed to be on the point of collapse. And where was the stop- cock to turn the water off.

I contacted my brother and sister, and rang an emergency plumber, who went to the house as quickly as he could. My brother in law drove over from west Dorset, getting there in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Mum and Dad couldn’t see what the fuss was all about. What leak ?

All of which means that the only image I have is this hydrangea. I walked to our nearest post box to post a letter, and passed it on the way. I think the colours look very autumnal, appropriate for today’s autumn equinox.
