The watcher...
Yesterday's snow finally started settling after dark, and by the morning we had up to 10cm. As Rosie hadn't been out at all yesterday, we decided a country walk was in order, and drove along slushy roads to get to Ring Haw. We last visited this at the end of January, on another snowy day. Rather foolishly, I labelled that blip 'Last Blast' - how wrong I was!
Today it seemd even wintrier, perhaps because of the snow on all the branches and the absence of any sun. The walk was pleasant enough while we were sheltered by woodland, but it was bitter anywhere exposed to the east wind, which picked up towards the end of our walk and was causing quite spectacular, if painful, snow blows.
In the afternoon the sun broke through and melted quite a lot of the snow in the garden. This might have really been a better time for photography, but I was busy cleaning and tidying, in preparation for Chris's homecoming. Tonight the family is all safely gathered in...
