Learn to weave

Today amongst the boarded up shops in the Thistle shopping centre I came across a young man weaving in a new space.
For Peter, age 21, is part of Coorie Crafts, a social enterprise project, offering people the chance through workshops to learn how to weave.
I am tempted to sign up for one of their taster workshops.

Certainly there are a growing number of craft shops and workshops in this medieval town, the “Gateway to the Highlands”, and it could point to a sustainable way forward for the town centre now that it has to reinvent itself since so many shops have closed and we have migrated to online shopping, a process already happening but fast forwarded because of the pandemic.
