Feeding Time

Bonnie and Clyde are now about two weeks old. For those of you who haven't been following this, they are rescued baby squirrels. Right now they look like newts, or maybe bats. Their eyes won't open til around five weeks. I am just the grandmother; I get to say how cute they are and then they go home with my son. He is their single parent, and takes them everywhere in a small wooden box that is lined with soft cloths and wood shavings.

Even though they look so emaciated, they are eating well and growing. They don't stand up yet, but they can self-propel by scrabbling with their front legs. They actually can scoot pretty fast. Reminds me of watching a baby figure out how to move.
