Busts!

Isn't it great that we can still wander in to galleries for free and see such impressive things? No doubt the philistines and penny-pinchers will be trying to back-peddle on this soon, but I hope they fail.

On my way to catch up with my old friends Ben & Alison today I ducked into the Scottish National Gallery - largely I confess for their heating, storage and toilet facilities. But once in a couldn't resist a wander.

I don't usually go for 'old' sculpture, but couldn't help but be impressed by the Three Graces, and the latest centrepiece, Rodin's The Kiss.

But my favourite was this striking gathering of busts tucked away on the staircase up to the Impressionists Gallery - what a collection!
