World of Wedgwood

After a very hearty cooked breakfast we set off to have a guided tour of the Wedgwood factory nearby to our hotel :)

The large mural of Josiah Wedgwood was huge and made up from multi coloured bone china plates!

The factory tour was amazing - we learnt about bone china firing (it’s red when it goes in the kiln & white when it comes out!), painting & glazing.
We also were taught about the Jasperware (black vase)

Anyone who knows me could guess that I couldn’t walk through the gift shop without making a purchase (or 2)! :-D

We finished off our time with a lovely cream tea served on Wedgwood china of course ;-)
