Tribal mask

I don't know if the back of a grasshopper has ever inspired a tribal maskmaker but the fierce back-look of the guy in the photo makes me think it would be appropriate. Don't you think that grasshoppers would make for an excellent totem animal and wearing a grasshopper masks during ritual dances and cerimonies would have the desired visual effect?
I wouldn't be surprised either if the fierce back- look evolved to scare off predators, I surely got startled when I noticed this look through my macro-lens.
