Nissan Super Girl Finals

I made it back from volleyball in time for the Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro finals. The contest was down to two surfers, both teenagers. Sixteen year old Caitlin Simmers is from Oceanside and eventual winner nineteen year old Caroline Marks (shown here) is from San Clemente. The waves were unfortunately not as good as the other morning, so there was quite a bit of activity the first 15 minutes of the 35 minute final, then very little for the last 20. A bit anticlimactic, but the large crowd was appreciative of the surfer's efforts.
