Finally - Big, blue and well hidden!

This beauty  the Blue underwing  or Clifden Nonpareil was waiting for me in my trap this morning  - I was delighted as this is the third year I have trapped one and this year they are turning up almost everywhere.
I was amazed again at how huge they are (I had to put him in a sandwich box) and also how well camouflaged he is when his blue striped hindwings are carefully folded away,
