‘Ouch!’

Went to my grandson’s 9th birthday party this afternoon (actually about his third in so many days - but this one was with his grandparents and one of his uncles)!

We had a barbecue and ate in a gazebo in the garden. The highlight was a delicious cake, topped with candle in the shape of a ‘9’, that had been baked by his paternal grandmother.

The only hitch (actually a really only a very slight one!) was when, having blown out the candle, he picked it out of the cake, not realising that there was hot wax running down its sides…..
