Amandine's Plot Treize

Jerusalem artichoke prunings

Despite not flowering, my Jerusalem artichoke plants looked very healthy (too healthy?) and the stalks still managed to reach new heights!

Not everyone's keen on Jerusalem artichokes - some people call them "fartichokes" and they can take over a bed if you forget about them for a while.

The reality though is that, come February, they're a welcome harvest and their nutty taste make them delicious in soups and roasted or mashed.

For now, I decided to cut the stalks down to give my other artichokes (globe) much-needed light.
