Frightening Rabbit!
Another cold, bitter day outside (when will it ever change?) so any thoughts of trying to capture a photo for today's daily blip journal with my short journey outside were the furthest things from my mind.
Safely inside with the heating full blast and a few glasses of wine to heat myself up, i was trying to wrack my brains for any inspiration for a pic for today.
While trawling through my phone i came across this photo which was off me trying to take a picture of the ticket i had won last november to a special screening of Frightened Rabbit's most recent tour of the Scottish highlands and islands.
I've been following this group for the last few years now, on my last count i'm up to seeing them live 8 times now and i've seen them play in the smallest of venues like the sweat soaked imtimacy of The Captain's Rest to a jam packed King Tut's tent at T in The Park.
Their greatness was cemented with the release of their second album 'MIDNIGHT ORGAN FIGHT', one of the best albums of the last few years.
So to see them move up to major label status by signing to Atlantic Records and also have a recent Top Ten album with 'PEDESTRIAN VERSE' has been a total pleasure as a fan, who has spent many a great night watching them give a nothing less than emotional, heart filled performance every time they play.
It's been a joy, and quite unique in these times, to watch a band slowly climb the ladder of success without the help of hype or gimmicks but with just true talent, charisma and a bag full of great songs.
This picture struck me as in trying to simply take a photo of the ticket, i have bizzarely managed to capture the shadow of my hand and phone and inadvertently managed to produce a frightened or frightening silhoutte of a rabbit.
Well it's the best i can do for tonight so i'm putting it out there. Because this is a week now i've been on this blipfoto thingy and i am enjoying it and i do find it fun.
And you never know where your next photo or story is going to come from.
