Bracken Turning

Autumn for me brings a real sense of melancholy.  I know a few people who like this time of year, I'm not so sure, feels like things are closing in.  Am also really concerned this year about what winter will bring for many, with the NHS struggling to cope already, plus we now have serious issues with energy supplies in the UK.  Got my new electricity tariff this week, eye watering, and this will be happening across the UK and probably Europe too *.  So many people are going to struggle to heat their homes.  Added to this, a fire has shut down the electricity supply cable from France, which is unlikely to be fixed before March so increases the likelihood of power outages over winter.  The knock on effects from all of this are hard to get your head around - no tonic water for the gin being the least of our worries.
