Gluttony or Good Hosting?

What I love most about having guests in town is how much of a fresh perspective it gives me on Istanbul.. Sure it's not "new" for me anymore, but I get to re-experience the city through the eyes, ears, and palettes of my guests in a way that is so re-energizing. I don't necessarily remember the first time I saw the dome of the Haghia Sophia or ate muhammara at Antiochia or heard the call to prayer, but when I share these moments again and again with others, I re-discover more and more the things that made me come to fall in love with this city.

I also love sharing a part of my everyday world with those who aren't in it day in and day out, so that I can make connections between my world here and the people who I miss being in it everyday.
