Summer Sidelight

I think the white tree is a birch because it doesn't have a straight trunk like I have seen with the aspens and the markings are different. Anyway, it stood out, caught in the evening light. I noticed also the white wildflowers in the foreground shadow and the dead branch in the lower right, also in sunlight.

Beyond the shadow, in a clearing, there are more trees in leaf lit by the setting sun, which give some depth to the image. In this case I think the 3x2 portrait orientation suits the tall verticals. The slightly off centre positioning to the left seems to add some tension, I want it to be on the right, but maybe that stops the image being too twee.
