Ho Ho Ho.... Bah Humbug....

A sunny start after last night's rain again
Fed cattle then hauled the mobile grain dryer out the shed and set it up in the field at the top of the yard. By the time I had screwed all the jacks down to level the frame up,winched up the central auger, climbed inside to put the 3 bolts in,climbed back out and winched up the outer shell I was knackered. Seemingly old age doesn't come itself,as the saying goes.
Headed off next door , hitched up the rake and turned the remaining damp barley straw to let it dry out a bit. A late lunch then baled it up. Was finished by 4 pm,it was starting to cloud over, so went and baled the 20 acres of oat straw that has been sitting since it was cut 10 days ago. It wasn't perfect but I have baled worse. It's just as well I did as it is now raining again .
Hopefully that's the straw all baled for 2021. Now just all the grain to dry and some silage to cut and bale,if/ when the weather plays ball.
A trip into town tonight to collect Littlemiss from a pal's as they had all been away to the rugby at Murrayfield. Stopped in Tesco's to get something for my tea,and spotted an aisle full of Christmas stuff. Too soon, far too soon !
