Autumn Robin
I fight the urge to return to Sychnant, desperate to see the swallows again. Deep down, I suspect they’ve left already, starting on their long migration - and besides, today’s dull weather would do nothing to enhance their gorgeous iridescence. So, instead it’s back to the reserve in Conwy; it’s over a week since we last visited.
We see herons, egrets, cormorants and lapwing. I even spot what I think might be a godwit. But then, we’re stopped in our tracks by a little robin. I love these cheerful birds, and have missed them over the summer, so this is a treat - especially as he hops from tree to bramble where he entertains us feeding in the blackberries. Of course, I would have loved a clear view for my shot, but hopefully a few twigs and grasses can be excused!
It’s been quite a week for wildlife, and thank you for the great response to swallows and seals. I wish I could issue a prize for the best caption for yesterday’s blip!
