DAY 8 - CRETE

We both slept well despite the basic room. The journey to our next destination is an hour away but we decided to split it up with a beach and lunch stop.
#this is the little port of Hora Sfakion…
#on route we discovered…Frangokastello…a Venetian fortress.
#We stop to stand…beside the Syrian Sea…and had a sing!!
#we drove onto Plakias for lunch and a swim…a nice beach resort for a chill time.
#then we discovered Kalypso Bay…a tiny beach in between massive rocks but with the clearest of water and teaming with fish. Another dip was required!!
#However the star of the show was our new room for 2 nights. It’s amazing…the bathroom is stunning and there are..
#several tiny little shaded courtyards and a roof top terrace. We are literally in the old town. Would thoroughly recommend Barbara’s studios…the best yet!!……time for dinner and a stroll.
