Man in need of a plan
Work has been very quiet again today, so I wasn’t feeling particularly inspired but I did take the opportunity to start looking at the dreaded planning for 2022.
I always find it odd to build a future target so far in advance. It is all so arbitrary. There are so many different things beyond my control which could affect the outcome or stand in the way of those goals, that to be held entirely accountable for whether that target is achieved or not, seems a little unfair.
Like many others, when putting some thoughts down in advance of 2020, I was remiss in not making allowances for the fact that across the globe, businesses would close, loads of people would die and those that didn’t wouldn’t be allowed outside for a bit.
However, I am the Consummate Insurance Professional™ and in the absence of any other offers, will plough on regardless in the hope of a few extra shekels whilst retaining the right to feel envious of those who do a job they love or something which has a positive impact upon the world.
The far better part of the day was being joined by The Eldest later on, which gave us the opportunity for a nice catch up before we both went our separate ways for a couple of hours for the evening. Her to McDonalds. Me to The Factory Tap for a drink and an enjoyable discussion on favourite films.
