Three in a Tower

Lunch with the wagon family, so glad Ju and Tom got to meet them, extra of Oriane with her girls. Always good to see them.

Then to stunning Marvão, perched atop a 3,000 ft granite peak - one of the places in the book, 1000 Places to Visit Before You Die.

Then dinner at Graça's new place, Ammaia, next to the Roman town of the same name. She and her husband have moved here from Estrela, which is where Ju and Tom got engaged. They've had such a difficult time with the pandemic.

Way past midnight, so now it's Julia's 26th birthday, we sang to her in the car on the way back.

Gratefuls:
- Tom helping out with the driving in Spain, as Mike still hasn't got a license; ok (we hope) in Portugal, as we have a paper saying we've applied, but maybe not anywhere else...
- seeing Bonelli's eagles flying over and under us
- the silence and quality of light in Marvão, the views, the moon, the setting sun, hard to take in so much beauty
