Tower
Went into Glasgow to visit the 'Ghost Signs of Glasgow' photo exhibition (and very good it was too) and passed this new monument in the east end of the city.
It is called 'Tower of Silence' by John McCarron and commemorates those who lost their lives and loved ones during the 'Great Famine' or 'Great Hunger' in Ireland in the mid-19th century.
This stark and dramatic sculpture was unveiled only in July this year.
