Spring is coming (6)

There are certain landmarks events which signal a corner is being turned from winter to spring whatever the weather might be suggesting. One of these will be the clocks moving forward next weekend. Days will be different after that.

Another is the first rhubarb of the season. It is a favourite. I remember being given a rhubarb stick and a bag of sugar to keep me quiet when I was a boy. The rhubarb was usually green and capable of scrunching the most expressionless of faces.

Maybe next year I'll have rhubarb of my own but I'll still depend on shops for the early stuff.
