Hush!

Been having issues with our smoke alarms recently. Malfunctioning and going off for no reason - aargh!
Realised that they have shelf lives of only ten years and ours were past their best.
Got a man in to change them.
Apparently we have two smoke alarms and two heat alarms. I didn’t even know there was a difference.
The new ones all have a test button (standard) which is also a hush button.
Next time one (and therefore all them) goes off for no reason, at least we’ll be able to switch off the noise for ten minutes while we get them down to check the batteries.
These new ones are hugely easier to get off the ceiling too.

….and of course, if they go off because there is a fire, then that’s fine. Just hope we don’t ever have to deal with that one.
