Abundance of Thistle

A post on FB mentioned finding owls at a local park wildlife area, near a small pond.  I hadn't been there in a couple of years, thinking there wasn't much in the way of activity.  I returned today, and didn't spot any owls, but I was pleasantly surprised by the goldfinches, flycatchers, woodpeckers and bluebirds.  The grasses are high supplying plenty of seeds for our feathered friends.
